A local Loudoun Favorite!
The Brahman Noodles started performing under this name soon after a somewhat inaudible muttering from lead guitarist Jimmy Petrohilos over a bowl of Top Ramen.” I was trying to say ‘I am really getting tired of eating ramen noodles’ but it came out sounding more like Brahman Noodles” said Jimmy. A friend, Alexis, exclaimed” there is your band name! The Brahman Noodles”.
Jimmy started drawing up different fonts and lettering and thought The Brahman Noodles is a great band name.
A close friend and co founder Brandon Sengstack and Jimmy took a week long poll from local business owners, whose heritage is Indian, and they unanimously gave the thumbs up and found no offense with the play on words. The rest has been show after show and a lot of fun yet hard work.
Lay ears on Dave Lange and you will find yourself immediately drawn in by his unique sound. Yes, he plays the blues but not in a way you would expect, conjuring up a unique brew from the North Mississippi hill country seasoned with roots rock straight from the rust belt. Lange’s music is defined by a strong emphasis on the “groove” with driving rhythms and percussion, steady guitar riffs, few chord changes, and unconventional song structures. A three-string cigar box guitar, howling steel resonator, and finger-picked slide guitar give the music it’s edge while primal drum beats are pounded out by foot producing a trance-like boogie. Combined with smooth and smokey vocals, Lange delivers American roots music in a fresh new way.

Anthony was born and raised in Sayreville, NJ. If you know your rock ‘n roll trivia, then you know that’s home to John Bongiovi, better known as Jon Bon Jovi. Anthony grew up on the 80’s sound and the great “hair bands” of the era. While the 80’s synthesizer and the distorted electric guitar were at the forefont of Anthony’s music influences he also played acoustic guitar in folk and church groups.
As time has rolled on, Anthony has been influenced by music from all genres including artists like Eric Clapton, Rush, U2, CCR and the Allman Brothers. Living in the rural setting of western Loudoun County, VA has opened the world of country music influences too. Anthony continues to foster a strong connection with contemporary christrian and folk music. He leads a youth praise band and plays guitar, mandolin and bass in a church folk/bluegrass group. Anthony has played with several bands, most recently the Loudoun County, VA based Red White & Blues.
At his core, Anthony enjoys taking classics from any genre and stripping them down to an acoustic guitar. You are sure to hear 80’s classics arranged for the solo acoustic, contemporary takes on 50 and 60’s classics or some of the most recent chart toppers at Anthony’s shows.
