Enjoy an impromptu weekend afternoon of wine and appetizers with the neighbors. Don’t forget to match the weight of a wine with its corresponding dish. Perhaps an antipasti plate of green olives, cheeses, and cured meats like salami and prosciutto, or to make it a little more chic add steamed mussels or oysters on the half shell. Use caution when matching with cheese that it be mild like havarti, edam, and soft cheeses mixed with herbs. For dinner choose light-bodied meals like salads with crisp vegetables and chicken or delicate fish like sole or haddock, or add a touch of spice with Thai or Mexican dishes. Oh, and let us not forget rich chocolate! Serve chilled about 55 F.
Seyval Blanc is the most successful of a series of French hybrid grapes. It was developed in Saint Vallier, Drome, France by Bertille Seyve and his son in law Victor Villard in the mid 20th Century.
This popular French-American hybrid ripens early in the season, making it well suited to cool climates. It is the most planted grape in England and has found considerable success in Canada and the Eastern United States predominately upstate New York and Virginia.
Our Seyval was settled in stainless steel. A wonderful semi-dry crisp citrus wine with fresh green apple flavors and just a hint of grapefruit.
